Online Zoom Workshop
Join us as we reconnect with our friends at AWAKE (Assoc. of WI-Area Kodaly Educators) for the biennial joint workshop! In this workshop, composer and performer Molly Joyce and professor and scholar Jesse Rathgeber invite participants to consider what they can learn about music, learning, and teaching through the perspectives of disabled musicians. Through experiences of creating, performing, listening, and connecting with/through music, participants will encounter the generative power of disability to challenge deficit-based understandings of disability and inclusion. Participants will encounter perspectives from disabled musicians across multiple cultural and genre contexts to consider how these perspectives might help them reframe and retool pedagogy, curriculum design, content, and diversity and difference. This workshop will now be offered free of charge- no payment required.
